2010-02-06  01:41:00
In Canberra, Australia the West Indies beat the Prime Ministers XI in a warm up game by 90 runs. Chris Gayle reminded the Australians what he is capable of scoring 146 runs off of 89 balls. Together the team made 399 runs. Due to rain the Duckworth Lewis method was enforced and the target was increased to 403 but The Prime Ministers XI dropped short only making 312. Upholding the WI was also Travis Dowlin who achieved 72 and Simmons who reached 70. Hopefully the West Indies boys will keep up the good work, hold their heads up high and work as a team going into their first ODI on Sunday 7th February against Australia. The team consists of: Captain Chris Gayle, Narsingh Deonarine, Travis Dowlin, Wavell Hinds, Nikita Miller, Runako Morton, Brendan Nash, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach, Darren Sammy, Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Smith, Gavin Tonge (Dwayne Bravo has been withdrawn due to injury). 1st ODI: Australia v West Indies at Melbourne Feb 7 (14:25 local, 03:25 GMT) 2nd ODI: Australia v West Indies at Adelaide Feb 9 (13:55 local, 03:25 GMT) 3rd ODI: Australia v West Indies at Sydney Feb 12 (14:25 local, 03:25 GMT) 4th ODI: Australia v West Indies at Brisbane Feb 14 (13:25 local, 03:25 GMT) 5th ODI: Australia v West Indies at Melbourne Feb 19 (14:25 local, 03:25 GMT)
