Destra Garcia is officially a Mother to a Carnival baby girl, named Xaiya |

| She was born after 11am on Thursday 14th January, weighing six pounds and fifteen ounces. This means that Destra will not be out and about performing in the fetes this Trini carnival, accompanied by her boyfriend, producer and manager Brian Morris. She says she will be there in spirit. Destra has released music for this season so listen out for Surrender and Rewind her pan tunes and her Soca song Fireworks.
This year she will definitely be heard but unfortunately not seen. She laughed claiming the fans will not see her at least until she has lost the fifty pounds she has gained.
